Softball Game Preview: NorthWood Panthers vs. Lakeland Lakers

The NorthWood Panthers will take on the Lakeland Lakers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, NorthWood didn't have quite enough to beat Fairfield and fell 13-12.

Megan Yoder was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. Taryn Marcum was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Lakeland didn't have quite enough to beat Whitko on Thursday and fell 4-3.

Arianna Bustos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kylee Waldron, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

NorthWood's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
