Preview: University Trailblazers vs. Tri-West Hendricks Bruins
The University Trailblazers will head out on the road to take on the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. University is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
University might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 58-47 to Heritage Christian, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mackenzie Feeney, who scored two points along with 14 rebounds and five assists. She hasn't dropped below two blocks for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Conyers, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tri-West Hendricks came up short against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on Tuesday and fell 56-47. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tri-West Hendricks in their matchups with Indianapolis Bishop Chatard: they've now lost three in a row.
University has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Everything came up roses for University against Tri-West Hendricks in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 71-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for University since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
