Recap: Okeechobee Brahmans vs. Sebring Blue Streaks
If The Okeechobee Brahmans were feeling good off their 40-13 takedown of the Lake Placid Dragons last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Okeechobee was beaten by Sebring 35-6 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, Okeechobee couldn't push the score so high this time.
Ni'marion Bryant rushed for 12 yards and a touchdown. Carriss Chilsom-johns was his top target, rushing for 25 yards.
Travis Kerney was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Dyveon Collymore, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Okeechobee to a paltry 105 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Sebring's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out 6.5 times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Courtney Watson and his 3.5 sacks.
Okeechobee's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Sebring, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Okeechobee will head out on the road to face off against Clewiston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sebring, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Central at 7:30 p.m. Central is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
