Baseball Recap: Point Pleasant Beach Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Point Pleasant Beach's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Central Regional Golden Eagles 5-4. For the Garnet Gulls, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win the Golden Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2018.

ANTONIO ACEVEDO made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, DANIEL STORCH was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Point Pleasant Beach's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.5 runs this season. As for Central Regional, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
