Needville entered their tilt with Sweeny on Friday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bluejays also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Needville not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sweeny between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-20.

Sophia Zeitz paced Needville's offense, picking up 13 kills. Zeitz got some help from Avery Polak and her 23 assists. Zeitz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Needville's win bumped their record up to 33-4. As for Sweeny, their loss dropped their record down to 25-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Needville will square off against rival El Campo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sweeny is set to take on their familiar foe Bay City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
