Basketball Recap: Arete Prep CHARGERS vs. San Carlos Braves

After flying high against Madison Highland Prep last Tuesday, Arete Prep came back down to earth. The Arete Prep CHARGERS were outmatched by the San Carlos Braves and fell 59-20. The CHARGERS haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Leilani Aragon was Arete Prep's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Sadie Frasure held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Livia Emery took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

San Carlos' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was ELLYSIA CUTTER, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points and five assists. That's the most points CUTTER has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of KYLEE JUAN, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points and five boards.

Arete Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for San Carlos, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Arete Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-6 loss against Pima on the 13th. San Carlos has also already played their next match, an 83-15 win against San Tan Charter on the 13th.
