Granite Falls hadn't done well against South Whidbey recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Granite Falls Tigers secured a 47-42 W over the South Whidbey Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Falcons back in January, they had to take a 51-39 defeat.

South Whidbey's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colten Smith, who posted eight points along with seven assists and five boards. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Grady Davis, who scored 11 points and six rebounds.

Granite Falls' win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for South Whidbey, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-8.

Granite Falls has already played their next game, a 72-42 loss against King's on the 14th. South Whidbey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
