Clintondale came tearing into Friday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Sterling Heights Stallions with a sharp 15-0 win. While the Dragons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jordan Pruett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Clintondale got a massive performance out of Edward Pearson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Pearson a new career-high. Brett Polakowski also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Clintondale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .552 or higher in four consecutive games.

Clintondale's record is now 9-1. As for Sterling Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clintondale will head out to challenge Madison at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sterling Heights, they will venture away from home to square off against South Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Stallions will need to watch out since the Cavaliers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
