Baseball Recap: Robinson Has No Trouble Against Hillsborough

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Steinbrenner, Robinson was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Hillsborough Terriers. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Terriers: they've now won three in a row.

Robinson got a great performance from Angelo Rivera as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Rivera has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyson Boyd was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Robinson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Jackson Tebbe also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Robinson now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hillsborough, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Robinson will take on Cambridge Christian in a tournament on Tuesday. Robinson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Cambridge Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hillsborough, they will be taking part in a tournament against Steinbrenner at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Steinbrenner will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
