Baseball Recap: Zephyrhills Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fivay last Thursday, Zephyrhills came back down to earth. The Zephyrhills Bulldogs came up short against the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls on Friday, falling 15-2. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Bulls recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Traiton Costello made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Zephyrhills' loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.

Zephyrhills and Wiregrass Ranch could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Zephyrhills (ranked 498th) will meet Largo (ranked 136th) at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Meanwhile, Wiregrass Ranch will square off against East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on March 26th down 308 places (376 vs. 68).
