The Lindsay Knights will square off against the Muenster Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Muenster will be up against a hot Lindsay team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Lindsay put the hurt on Era with a sharp 20-5 victory on Tuesday.
Reagan Swaney was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kylie Hielckert, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Muenster made easy work of Chico on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 win. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Lilly Johnson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Anna Kay Hennigan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Muenster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in seven consecutive matches.
Muenster's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Lindsay, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lindsay hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Muenster struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lindsay couldn't quite finish off Muenster when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 11-9. Can Lindsay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
