Brunswick has won nine straight games at home, while Mentor has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will host the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Brunswick 3.9, Mentor 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Monday, Brunswick narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Medina 5-4. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Battling Bees recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Gabby Diligente spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Giovanna Diligente was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena Osowski, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Mentor was able to grind out a solid win over Riverside on Friday, taking the game 6-3.
Mentor also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Maggie Haydu gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddie Menough, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Beam-Jones, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
Mentor is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Brunswick, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brunswick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .423. However, it's not like Mentor struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brunswick couldn't quite finish off Mentor in their previous matchup back in April and fell 7-5. Will the Blue Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
