Clarke was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wantagh apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
For Wantagh's part, Jack Tate made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Tate has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances.
