Softball Game Preview: Berry Cardinals vs. Ardrey Kell Knights

Berry hasn't had much luck against Ardrey Kell recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cardinals will face off against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. Berry has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Berry fell victim to South Mecklenburg and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Sabres, falling 17-0. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Ardrey Kell posted their closest victory since April 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past South Stanly 10-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

The team relied heavily on Reagan Martin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Janey Galek was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Berry's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Ardrey Kell, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
