POWAY, Calif. -
Poway (Calif.) put up 24 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 45-21 victory over
Valley Center (Calif.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Lance Mudd in the second quarter, the Titans led 21-0 at the half.
Poway saw its 21-point halftime lead decrease to 14 entering the fourth.
PHS put up 24 points in the fourth quarter en route to the win. The Titans scored on a touchdown pass by
Tate Martell to
Trent Laliberte, an
Issiah Aguero touchdown pass to
Will James and a kick return touchdown by
Tyjon Lindsey in the quarter.
Aguero played well for Poway in the victory. The sophomore running back.
The victory was a step in the right direction for PHS, which was coming off a 61-0 defeat at the hands of Oceanside in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for the Jaguars. The victory snapped Poway's two-game losing streak.
