Baseball Recap: Astoria/VIT Comes Up Short on the Road Against Monmouth United

Astoria/VIT kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 10-0 to the Monmouth United Red Storm. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 16 in a row.

Astoria/VIT saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonah Shaw, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

The victory was the third in a row for Monmouth United, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Astoria/VIT will be playing at home against Illini Bluffs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monmouth United, they will square off against West Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
