Basketball Recap: Shiner Piles Up the Points Against Blanco

Shiner lost to Blanco back in November of 2017, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Shiner Comanches simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Blanco Panthers 55-14. The Comanches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Blanco's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carleigh Dotson, who posted two points along with eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Silva, who put up three points and six rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Shiner and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Blanco, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Goliad the next time they take the court. Blanco will head out to face Goliad at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, while Shiner will head out to face them at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
