Recap: Westmont Warriors vs. King's Academy Knights
The Westmont Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 61-40 walloping at the hands of King's Academy. While losing is never fun, Westmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 797th, while King's Academy is ranked 144th).
Caleb Hughey was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with nine rebounds for King's Academy. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Xavier Barnett, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Westmont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for King's Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Westmont's road trip will continue as they head out to face Leigh at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th. King's Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Christopher at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th.
