Softball Recap: Broadneck Beats Glen Burnie for Their Second Straight Victory

Broadneck barely beat Glen Burnie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Broadneck never let Glen Burnie get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Monday. With that win, the Bruins brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Rylan Crisafulli made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Aliceanna Weibley and Isabella Herrera did most of the damage at the plate: Weibley scored three runs while going 1-for-3, while Herrera scored three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Herrera has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Diana Owens, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Broadneck always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Broadneck and bumps their season record up to 3-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Glen Burnie, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
