COLEMAN, Mich. - In spite of trailing
Coleman (Mich.) 15 points,
Sacred Heart Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) surged back to grab a 28-21 win over
Coleman (Mich.) Saturday.
After nabbing the lead on an
Adam Stremlow touchdown pass to
Matthew Warner, the Comets went into halftime with a 15-8 lead. The Irish took the lead for good with a passing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 12 points in the third, Sacred Heart Academy still trailed by one point going into the fourth quarter. But eight points in the fourth helped SHA pull out the victory.
The Mt. Pleasant school didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when they threw a touchdown.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Irish, who were coming off a 39-6 defeat at the hands of Mendon in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Coleman, which notched a 48-28 victory over Valley Lutheran in its previous outing.
