Soccer Game Preview: Larkin vs. Westminster Christian

The Larkin Royals will square off against the Westminster Christian Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Larkin has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 16 straight defeats, while Westminster Christian will come in with five straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Larkin's offense. They came up short against South Elgin on Tuesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Larkin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 348th, while South Elgin are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Westminster Christian kept a clean sheet against Christian Life on Tuesday. They blew past the Eagles 9-0. Westminster Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Christian Life from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Olivia Hill led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Westminster Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Larkin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Larkin took their win against Westminster Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
