Softball Recap: Botkins Victorious

Botkins won against Jackson Center on Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Trojans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Indian Lake Lakers, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since April 12, 2025.

Botkins is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Indian Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Botkins will take on Houston at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Indian Lake, they will head out to take on North Union at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
