Baseball Recap: Albion Extends Winning Streak to Three

Albion entered their tilt with Barker on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Purple Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nathan Gibson and Andrew Boyce did most of the damage at the plate: Gibson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Boyce went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs Boyce has posted since back in April of 2024. Kaiden Froman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Albion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.

Albion's record is now 3-5. As for Barker, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Albion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
