Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Briann Anderson and Vivian Zurheide Lead Southwestern to Victory + How To Watch

Southwestern entered their tilt with Litchfield on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Purple Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Piasa Birds also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Southwestern not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Litchfield between 19 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20.

Leading Southwestern to victory were Vivian Zurheide and Briann Anderson. Zurheide had 13 kills and three aces, while Anderson had 11 kills. Those 11 kills gave Anderson a new career-high.

The victory got Southwestern back to even at 14-14-2. As for Litchfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-16.

Looking ahead, Southwestern will take on Gillespie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Litchfield, they will be taking part in a tournament against Civic Memorial on Saturday.
