Baseball Recap: Calhoun County's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Calhoun County was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ridge Spring-Monetta on Tuesday. The Saints were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Trojans. Considering the Saints have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chris Glover was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Daniel Tamayo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Calhoun County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Calhoun County moved to 4-7 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Calhoun County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
