Baseball Game Preview: University Prep Pumas vs. King's Knights

For the second straight game, University Prep will face off against King. The Pumas will take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (University Prep has won three straight at home, while King's won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

University Prep came out on top against King's on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Pumas won by a run and slipped past the Knights 5-4.

Hawthorne Moody spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Owen Bradley was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of University Prep's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jasper Schmidt, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

With the loss, King's broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5. As for University Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
