Skyview has gone a perfect 3-0 against Overland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wolverines are taking a road trip to square off against the Blazers at 4:00 p.m. Skyview will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Skyview barely beat Adams City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Wolverines have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaleb Rodriguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Skyview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Carlos Carrillo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Skyview: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Casillas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Skyview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
DSST: Montview hit Overland with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blazers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 12-10.
Brayan Ascencio made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Riordan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Skyview's record now sits at 8-6. As for Overland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Overland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skyview has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Overland, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Skyview's sizable advantage in that area, the Blazers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Skyview got the 'W' in their previous matchup on April 2nd against Overland by a conclusive 21-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
