Volleyball Game Preview: Eastside College Prep Panthers vs. King's Academy Knights

Eastside College Prep is 0-10 against King's Academy since September of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Thursday. Eastside College Prep came up short against Pinewood, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-8, 25-14.

Meanwhile, King's Academy lost 3-0 to Milpitas on Thursday.

King's Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-11.

Eastside College Prep will need to focus on slowing down Shuwen Jin, one of several King's Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She had 14 digs. Jin has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played. Michaela Wu was another key player, getting eight digs.

King's Academy suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 8-5. As for Eastside College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Eastside College Prep suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to King's Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
