Basketball Recap: Turner Takes a Loss

Turner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost to the De Soto Wildcats at home by a 74-55 margin. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Wildcats are ranked 111th).

When it comes to explaining why Turner lost, don't look at Tyland Mcgee. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Mcgee is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Follick, who posted nine points.

Turner's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for De Soto, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Turner will host Harmon at 7:01 p.m. on Tuesday. Turner is facing Harmon at the right time seeing as Harmon is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for De Soto, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the De Soto Wildcats take on the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats on Tuesday.
