Baseball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Seward

Seward got themselves on the board against Nebraska City on Monday, but Nebraska City never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Pioneers. The Bluejays were shut out 7-0 the last time they took on the Pioneers, so the Bluejays were just returning the favor.

Not much got past Kolton Loos, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Nebraska City off the board. Loos also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Seward is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Seward saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quin Berner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Seward pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Nebraska City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
