Soccer Recap: Indian River Comes Up Short

Indian River lost against Great Bridge back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Braves came up short against the Wildcats, falling 19-0. While losing is never fun, Indian River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Great Bridge are ranked tenth).

Indian River is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Great Bridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Indian River will head out on the road to challenge Oscar Smith at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Indian River will be up against Oscar Smith's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.08 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Great Bridge, they will be playing at home against Kempsville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kempsville will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Great Bridge surely won't give up without a fight.
