            Basketball Recap: West Greene Pioneers vs. Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Mapletown  last Thursday, West Greene came back down to earth. The West Greene Pioneers fell  49-40 to the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings  (they are ranked 480th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 218th).
 West Greene lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Lane Allison, who  went 5 for 11  en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Matthew Wassil, who  posted five  points along with eight  boards and three  blocks.

With the  loss, West Greene broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7. As for Chartiers-Houston, the  win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Greene will welcome Jefferson-Morgan  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. West Greene is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8  points per game  this season. As for Chartiers-Houston, they will be playing at home against Burgettstown  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
