Sadly, Windham is still looking for their first win of the season after five matchups. They suffered a rough 20-6 loss at the hands of the Putnam Clippers on Monday. One positive for Windham, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Jeisabel Vazquez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Julisa Colon, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Even though they lost, Windham was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. That's the most doubles they've managed all season.
Windham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Putnam, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windham is on the road again on Wednesday to play Wheeler at 4:00 p.m. As for Putnam, they will challenge Harvard Ellis Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
