Two dominant backs in Vincent Navarro and Da'Rontae Barnes are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Foresthill Wildfires will host the Encina Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Foresthill's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Encina has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Foresthill is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Mira Loma, who was ranked tenth at the time (Foresthill was ranked 22nd). The Wildfires took a 28-13 bruising from the Matadors on Friday. The loss was the Wildfires' first of the season.

Despite their defeat, Foresthill saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Shayne Falkenberg, who picked up 86 receiving yards and one touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Foresthill better keep an eye on Jeremy Dew. He was instrumental in Encina's win, rushing for 125 yards and one TD on only nine carries, while also throwing for 63 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Dew has posted since back in August.

Encina didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Barnes picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Encina's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Foresthill, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
