Saxony Lutheran hadn't done well against Notre Dame recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Crusaders walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs. For the Crusaders, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Saxony Lutheran had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-19.

Claudia Jones and Bre Riney certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Jones had 20 digs and four aces, while Riney had 14 digs. Jones has been hot, having also posted 21 or more assists the last five times she's played. Alex Young also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Saxony Lutheran's victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 11-15-1. As for Notre Dame, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10-2.

Saxony Lutheran has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Kirkwood on the 11th. As for Notre Dame, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Mehlville on the 11th.
