Charlotte Catholic is a perfect 7-0 against Butler since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Charlotte Catholic sitting on 12 straight victories and Butler on three.

Charlotte Catholic's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Garinger as they made off with a 9-0 win. Given Charlotte Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while Garinger are ranked 283rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlotte Catholic's offense was hitting Garinger from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Marguerite McPhillips led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Butler and Rocky River combined for 27 shots on goal on Tuesday, which explains the impressive nine total goals scored. The Bulldogs blew past the Ravens 9-0. Butler's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Butler pushed their record up to 9-4-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Charlotte Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0-1.

Everything went Charlotte Catholic's way against Butler in their previous meeting back in March, as Charlotte Catholic made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
