Softball Recap: Monument Valley Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

There's no place like home for Monument Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Chinle Wildcats by a score of 12-8 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in March, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Hailey Etsitty was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 contests. Nannabah Haskan was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Monument Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Monument Valley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Chinle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Monument Valley will face off against Ganado at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chinle, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Window Rock on the 9th.
