Football Recap: Rosepine Eagles vs. Winnfield Tigers
Rosepine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 33-6 loss at the hands of the Winnfield Tigers. The Eagles were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Damascus Lewis had a dynamite game for Winnfield, rushing for 221 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Lewis' longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Rosepine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Winnfield, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosepine will challenge Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34.3 points per game this season. As for Winnfield, they will square off against Many at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winnfield is facing Many at the right time seeing as Many is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
