Soccer Game Preview: Gulf Breeze vs. South Walton

The Gulf Breeze Dolphins will face off against the South Walton Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Gulf Breeze's offense. They fell 2-0 to Choctawhatchee on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dolphins came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Indians are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, South Walton kept a clean sheet against Tate on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Aggies 1-0. The Seahawks wouldn't have won without Gavin Wilde, who scored the game-winner.

Gulf Breeze has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-5-3 record this season. As for South Walton, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-5.

Everything went Gulf Breeze's way against South Walton when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as Gulf Breeze made off with a 3-0 victory. Does Gulf Breeze have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Walton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
