Volleyball Recap: Emma Vantassel and Collins Alonzo Secure Win for Southlake Carroll

Southlake Carroll won the last time they faced Keller Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dragons put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 3-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Southlake Carroll took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 25-10.

Southlake Carroll was led to victory by Collins Alonzo and Emma VanTassel. Alonzo had 18 digs and two assists, while VanTassel had eight assists and four digs. Alonzo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Hattie Peters also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addyson Ray, who had nine digs and six assists.

Southlake Carroll has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Keller Central, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15.

Coincidentally, Southlake Carroll and Keller Central will both be playing Byron Nelson the next time they take the court. The Chargers will head out to face the Bobcat at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Dragons will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
