Recap: Bertie Falcons vs. North Moore Mustangs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Bertie Falcons can now relate to. They were dealt a 58-20 defeat at the hands of North Moore on Friday.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahkelvin Rascoe, who picked up 167 receiving yards and a touchdown. Mere Dempsey also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
North Moore's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colby Pennington, who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also caught a touchdown. Kolby Ritchie also helped out as he racked up 101 rushing yards.
Bertie now has a losing record at 5-6. As for North Moore, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Bertie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Moore will head out on the road to face off against Wilson Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
