Volleyball Recap: Deshler Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Makayla Willingham and Kendall Scogin

Deshler lost against Russellville on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Golden Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Deshler sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 15-9.

Deshler's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kendall Scogin, who had 14 digs and one assist, and Makayla Willingham, who had six digs and three blocks. Willingham is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. Aubrey Mayfield also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Deshler's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Russellville, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Deshler has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Lauderdale County on the 26th. As for Russellville, they will take on Priceville in a tournament on Thursday.
