Baseball Recap: Dexter's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dexter waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Pioneer Pioneers 12-2. This was payback for the Dreadnaughts, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Dexter got a great performance from Andrew Cusick as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Cusick has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chance Sobbry and Cole Novara did most of the damage at the plate: Sobbry went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Novara went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Sobbry a new career-high. Cooper Arnedt was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Dexter's record now sits at 24-8. As for Pioneer, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-12.

Dexter will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pioneers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
