Recap: Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets vs. Red Cloud Warriors
The Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets lost against the Red Cloud Warriors back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Heartland Lutheran took a hard 53-35 fall against Red Cloud. Heartland Lutheran has struggled against Red Cloud recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Heartland Lutheran lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brielle Saddler. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Carly Niemoth, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Leading Red Cloud to victory were Kari Kucera and Adelynn Minnick. Kucera scored 18 points, while Minnick scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Kucera scored 15 or more points. Logan Brown was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Heartland Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Red Cloud, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heartland Lutheran will challenge Central Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Central Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Tuesday. As for Red Cloud, they will head out on the road to challenge Giltner at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Giltner is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
