Volleyball Recap: Kofa Kings vs. Cibola Raiders

Kofa was the 3-1 winner over Cibola when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Kings fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Kings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Kofa started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-13.

Reagan Taylor paced Kofa's offense, picking up ten kills. Taylor got some help from Melina Martinez and her six assists. Kiya Sayre controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Kofa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Cibola, their win ended an eight-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-11.

Kofa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Maricopa on the 20th. As for Cibola, they will take on Gila Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
