Baseball Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Westfield Mustangs

For the second straight game, MacArthur will face off against Westfield. The Generals will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. MacArthur will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

While MacArthur's victory against Westfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Generals skirted past the Mustangs 8-6. The win continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won eight in a row.

For Westfield's part, Christopher Ortiz put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Ortiz a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Ortiz wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kori Lafanette, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

MacArthur's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Westfield, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
