Volleyball Recap: Garces Memorial Takes a Loss

Garces Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bakersfield Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on October 7th.

Garces Memorial wouldn't go down easily and took Bakersfield Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 16-14.

Garces Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Bakersfield Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Garces Memorial has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against El Diamante on the 28th. As for Bakersfield Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Clovis East on the 28th.
