Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Ledford

Ledford waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 74-62 win over the North Davidson Black Knights. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Black Knights are ranked 416th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Ledford to victory were Adam Grier and Bryson Allred. Grier dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists, while Allred went 8 of 11 on his way to 18 points. With that strong performance, Grier is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Isaiah Peele was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Ledford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, North Davidson still got an impressive performance from Coen Miller, who went 11 for 16 en route to 23 points and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Miller McKnight, who posted 12 points.

Ledford's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.9 points per game. As for North Davidson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Ledford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-56 loss against Central Davidson on the 28th. North Davidson has also already played their next contest, an 80-50 win against Montgomery Central on the 28th.
