Baseball Game Preview: Houston Wildcats vs. New Knoxville Rangers

The Houston Wildcats will head out to face off against the New Knoxville Rangers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Houston hasn't scored more than two runs for six games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Friday, Houston came up short against Greenon and fell 7-2.

Meanwhile, New Knoxville lost 18-2 to Marion Local on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Rangers in their meetings with the Flyers: they've now lost six in a row.

Carson Lammers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for New Knoxville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went Houston's way against New Knoxville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Houston made off with a 13-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
