Basketball Recap: Wakefield School Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against King Abdullah Academy last Friday, Wakefield School came back down to earth. The Wakefield School Fighting Owls took a 25-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Hawks. The loss was the Fighting Owls 's first of the season.

Wakefield School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andie Mason, who posted three points and 11 rebounds. Mason is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Finley Smith, who earned eight points.

Wakefield School's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Highland, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Wakefield School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 26-18 win against Immanuel Christian on the 10th. As for Highland, they will challenge Tandem Friends at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
